Built in 1868 and in operation until 1952, this very unique and one of a kind brick schoolhouses has suffered much deterioration. Restoration began in 2000 and the McGee - Brick School Foundation committee was formed in 1999. The Foundation was previously under the auspices of the former Stagecoach Inn Museum until 2004. The McGee - Brick School today has it's own Foundation dedicated to the sole purpose of returning one of the few pieces of historic Delaware County, Iowa still intact to its original state.
